Corey Lewis (aka "Reyyy") is a comic book artist / illustrator / writer / designer living in Seattle, WA. He has been drawing since he could hold a pencil, and making comic book stories for about as long. His work is the result of total pop culture saturation colliding with bombastic creative energy. From hip-hop Shark ninjas defending restaurants, to sentient grape warriors from outer space-- There are no stories quite like THE REYYY's

Q & A

Do you like anime?

YES I DO! My drawing style is clearly very Japanese manga / anime influenced. Some of my favorite comics & stories are from Japan, so yeah, can't deny that.

However, I'm also very much a kid of 80's & 90's super hero comics, so I try to bring a mix of both influences to my comic projects.

What else inspires you?

Movies, music, pop culture of all sorts, food, sports, activities like skateboarding, martial arts, graffiti, breakdancing. Complicated things too, like history, civilization, ancient & modern culture relations, space, the universe, pharaohs, pyramids, ancient aliens.

How long have you been drawing / What was the first comic you made?

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. Apparently the first drawing I made was a brontosaurus when I was 2. The first for real comic I ever made was called "Fighting Fruits" when I was 12. It's about living fruit warriors battling candy creatures for superiority.

HUH. My first published graphic novel was "Sharknife" when I was 22! Every ten years since I was 2 I've had some kind of artistic milestone. I wonder what'll happen at 32?!???
